Hillside Midwifery provides exceptional, personalized care to growing families throughout Idaho’s Treasure Valley. Our team shares the belief that midwifery care is built on connection and trust in the natural and normal process of birth. We provide individualized and comprehensive care with a focus on the physical and emotional health of families throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

While we focus on a non-interventive, preventative approach for both pregnancy and birth, Hillside Midwifery also offers all standard screenings. We believe that pregnancy and birth are not a “one size fits all” event and we greatly value informed choice. Our job is to provide you with the latest evidence based practices and education, listen to your desires, and help to create an individualized care plan. Beyond taking vital signs and checking on your baby, we will spend time getting to know each other and discussing a variety of topics. Welcome to un-rushed care, compassionate, evidence based care!
Free one hour consultation
Comprehensive, holistic, personalized, and relationship-based prenatal visits following the standard schedule of monthly until 28 weeks, every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, and weekly until your birth, with extra visits as needed
Home visit at 36 weeks to plan for the big day
Nutritional guidance and tailored education for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery
In-office labs testing available including genetic screening and referral for ultrasounds
Midwife available by phone, text, and email for all questions or concerns 24/7
Postpartum planning

Home birth (which includes use of birth tub) from 37-42 weeks of pregnancy
Continuous care and support during labor, birth, and immediate postpartum.
Qualified, trained assistant at delivery
Medications, equipment, and skills needed to provide care in the event of maternal or newborn emergency

Immediate postpartum care to include newborn physical exam performed after honoring the ‘golden hour of bonding’, lactation assistance, and postpartum education
Continued lactation support throughout the postpartum period with experienced and knowledgeable IBCLC
Maternal and newborn care at 24-48 hours (to include all newborn screenings such as congenital heart defect screening, metabolic screening, and hearing screening all in your home), 3-5 days as needed for lactation support, and visits at 2, 4, and 6 weeks.
Well baby care for the first 4 weeks
The final postpartum visit can include a pap smear if indicated and contraception counseling
Pelvic floor therapy referral as needed

Hillside Midwifery offers annual wellness care. Whether you are in need of an annual wellness exam, are planning or planning to avoid a pregnancy and desire contraception, or simply need holistic reproductive support, the midwives at Hillside Midwifery provide respectful individualized healthcare throughout your reproductive years. We take a functional approach in treatment by looking for the root cause while taking an in depth look at your personal health history and learning more about your wellness goals. We work with you to create an individualized plan that can include referrals and additional testing.
